Presenting New Research at American Political Science Association

My co-authors (Travis Ridout and Erika Fowler) will be presenting our paper on interest groups at APSA next week.  I won’t be at the conference, but the paper is about the influence of interest group ads on voter persuasion.  There is a growing literature that argues that Super PACs and other groups are better than candidates at persuading voters to vote for or against candidates.  We did an experiment that exposed voters in different treatments to the same ad, but with different sponsors.  We get some neat results that both confirm and challenge the small scholarship in this area.  More to come as we revise the paper.  It’ll be available via SSRN here.  Search for “Franz.”
