I am the DeAlva Stanwood Alexander Professor of Government and Legal Studies at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  I am also the Associate Dean for the Curriculum in the Office of Academic Affairs at Bowdoin.

As part of my research, I serve as co-director of the Wesleyan Media Project.  The predecessor of that project was the Wisconsin Advertising Project.
